Emily Tilton first drew my attention with the exquisitely worded and toe-curlingly yummy excerpts she shared on Saturday Spankings, particularly those from the story of Miss Emily Orn’s preparation to become a bride in Victorian England, so when I had the chance to read The Second Notebook of Emily Orn Wilkes, I jumped at the chance.
The story opens on the morning of Emily’s wedding, though she quickly reflects back to events of the day before and we are transported to a room at Smith’s where Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Harrah, presumably two middle aged women, fit the soon to be bride with an aide-mari (which seems to be a sexy lacy Victorian thong).
Should I be turned on by the idea of two matrons fitting up the “charms” of a young virgin and then photographing her in various poses which were ordered by her husband?
Well, whether I ought to have been or not…I was and I kept sneaking away from what I was supposed to be doing to read more and more of this engaging, erotic story.
As a fan of historical fiction, I am in awe of Ms. Tilton’s use of language to transport the reader directly to London in June, 1872. Here is one example: I took small steps, because that lessened the pain somewhat; but also because the aide-mari, even when covered by crinolines and corset, makes one feel that one’s charms are terribly exposed to view, and that only a small step will prevent one’s most intimate secrets from being revealed; finally, and perhaps most importantly, because the aide-mari was designed with an ingenious quality to which only one who has walked in the garment can attest: the narrowing of the lace front panel at its base, when properly fitted, occurs at precisely the point where its remaining outside the bridal virtue is always in question; at every step the lace threatens to work its way into the bride’s untried furrow, or the wife’s virtue. Small steps barely manage to keep the narrow inward-urging lace at bay; a single large step allows the lace immediate and sudden entry, at which the wearer almost invariably gasps, and must excuse herself to the powder-room; if she is, on the other hand, at the altar, in the middle of her wedding-vows, she must bear the unique sensation, and find a means of concentrating on those vows rather than the excruciating, lewd sensation in her loins. This entire effect is greatly magnified, you can understand, when the aide-mari has been tightly fitted, as mine had been.
Emily is a delightful heroine who is both innocent and lustful at the same time. The story follows her from being fitted for the aide-mari through her wedding night and the many deliciously naught things that happen to her at the loving hands (and other things) of her new husband, Edmund.
This story contains F/f, M/f, f/f, voyeurism, anal sex, and lots of activities to titillate.
This book is the second in the series and though I enjoyed it without reading the first book, I suggest you buy both books at the same time and read them in the proper order because once you finish the first, even one click delivery will not be fast enough to get you to the next part.

This is the first title from Ruth and I can’t wait for the next!
We are introduced to Stacy who likes to flirt and toy with men. She meets her match when Cade, a police officer, tries to throw her out of the bar. She comes on to him but he barely bats an eye. She decides she wants to go after him and after a bet they promise to date for a month exclusively. This is a big deal to Stacy who hints that she usually floats guy to guy and does not commit to anyone.
Cade explains to her he will be all for dating her exclusively BUT he believes in good old fashioned discipline. Enter some deliciously hot spanking scenes. Stacy seems to push his buttons in the beginning and Cade absolutely follows through! Wow!
As they are dating Cade begins to have trouble with his godson. The boy has no father and his mother is too overwhelmed with everything to properly discipline him. She lets him get away with things on top of being unruly. Cade spends a lot of time paying attention to the boy and it wears on Stacy. Through unfortunate rumors and gossip Stacy believes Cade is cheating and no longer wants anything to do with him. She is hurt and lashes out but winds up saving the day at the end and they resolve it.
The story has a perfect balance of spankings and romance as Cade explains early on about his take on punishments and following the rules. He does not hesitate to take Stacy over his knee whenever she needs it. I quickly connected to these two and hope we will get another story with them.
(Please? Cade is so sexy and alpha, I loved him!)
I highly recommend this to readers who like DD relationships or just sexy men who spank.
Sexy and romantic at the same time.
Go grab your own!
Short story collections never seem to get their due. It’s a shame, I think. I would think so, I suppose, since I first experienced, and fell in love with, spanking fiction in the short form, with Victorian erotica like the stories of The Pearl. There are a great many wonderful collections out there, but I want to bring SRR readers’ attention to two collections from the keyboards of Penelope Hasler and Becky Sharpe that are well worth your consideration.
To convince you of these stories’ merits, I want to deal with the styles of Hasler and Sharpe first of all, to give an idea of the sorts of spanking you’ll find in their stories. I want to call your attention to a stylistic trait in each writer that makes me value her work individually, as a way to understand why you might want not just to sample these collections, but to read them through.
In Hasler’s stories, arousal is punished. In “A New Dimension,” the first story of Spank!, the naughty boy found to have an erection after being spanked receives his reward; in “The Magic Book” the naughty girl whom the crop makes wet has her crime against modesty brought before her; in “Sabine” (the most wonderfully out there BDSM story in either book) the narrator ruthlessly, and hotly, chastises and exploits her slave Sabine’s wantonness: these characters are always justly chastised, and always to my panting delight. That little individual quirk in Hasler’s spanking fiction betokens a whole range of other individualities–above all about the way she enters into her characters’ mental states as they spank and are spanked–that create in her work a hotness that I find truly unique. Those mental states almost always center on the humiliation and embarrassment attendant on a sound spanking whether in the necessary preparations of costume and positioning, the discomfort of the punishment itself, or the corner-time afterward, and Hasler never fails to arouse when she lovingly describes each facet.
In Sharpe’s stories, the sex is on the surface in a different way: arousal isn’t punished, but rather rewarded. In “Detention,” for example, the schoolgirl heroine begs to be treated like a big girl, and is, by the headmaster, and loves it. In “The Princess and the Jailer,” all the parties involved in the imprisonment and punishment of Princess Delilah, including Delilah herself, have what might be called a sex-positive attitude that works to make the story hot in a very refreshing way. Sharpe’s style is more external than Hasler’s, but just as hot. The contrast between Hasler’s and Sharpe’s styles makes the alternation of their voices delicious.
These stories are so wonderful that I’m going to list them, to tantalize you, with a tease of synopsis-let for each.
“A New Dimension” (Hasler): A lovely Fm story where a wife discovers her husband’s spanking interests.
“Three Wishes” (Sharpe): A cute, funny, and seriously twisted fairy tale featuring Cinderella as you’ve never seen her. Lovers of The Winter Storm should eat this one up.
“Dressing Down” (Hasler): What The Devil Wears Prada should have been. Fashion, executive assistants punishing their bosses, humiliation. Enough said.
“Detention” (Sharpe): an older schoolgirl gets the punishment all we schoolgirl spankos really want.
“The Magic Book” (Hasler): An absolute gem of a fantasy-story about a book, a la The Neverending Story that takes the reader to realms of. . . spanking.
“Like Mother, Like Daughter” (Hasler): A daughter discovers that her mum was once a schoolgirl spanking model, and feels the need to experience it for herself.
“Costume Party Catfight” (Sharpe): A dispute over the most creative costume at an office party leads to a humiliating display in the boss’ office.
“A Day in Court” (Hasler): A truly special tale of a spanking machine gone haywire. One of the funniest spanking stories ever written, I sincerely believe.
“Sabine” (Hasler): A mistress gives an ultra-hot monologue concerning her treatment of her willing, though naughty, slave.
“The Princess and the Jailer” (Sharpe): Another wonderful fairytale from Sharpe full of twists, turns, punishments, and sex.
“The Maid” (Hasler): A lovely little historical in which an earl gives a servant her due.
Something else that I refuse to spoil, but for which you must read all the way to the very end of the book.
What I find most difficult to get across in this sort of review, in which I’m hoping to recommend this book to you for the hotness of its stories, is the very high literary quality of both authors’ work. Here’s a sample of Hasler’s from the beginning of “Like Mother, Like Daughter”:
It was nearly time. Lisa peeked through the blinds again, watching for the car’s approach. A pair of headlights appeared in the distance, swimming through the darkness – was this him? – but they carried on past the house and disappeared. She went back to pacing round the lounge.
As she paced she was both scared and excited by the knowledge that she was about to be punished. She had dreamt, many times, of being spanked over a man’s knee, but she was about to experience it for real. Would she enjoy it? Would he spank very hard? The thought that she was about to learn the answer to that second question made her heart pound in her chest like a drum.
The literary merits of the stories seem to me to heighten the emotional impact of the eroticism to such an extent that I think you may find yourself putting these anthologies on a very special place on your virtual shelf.
It starts with our heroine – Sophie Palazzo giving a massage to Mafia capo – and link to her past – Joey La Torre. Since her father’s death, Sophie has followed her mother’s example in keeping as much distance between herself and the Family as possible. Joey has other ideas and Sophie’s resistance rapidly breaks down in the face of Joey’s charm, sex appeal and persistence.
The relationship between the two heroes is cute and their dialogue is completely natural and frequently fun. It is easy to understand why these two people would be attracted to one another – despite Sophie’s entirely understandable reservations.
I don’t really know anything about the Mafia – I’ve never even watched the Sopranos for goodness sake – so I don’t know how realistic any of the ‘business’ side of Joey’s life is. Although we see sufficient Mafia activity to drive the plot along and provide us with some insight to Joey’s life, we aren’t given too many grisly details. Instead we get a sweet romance. Although, as well as glimpses of Joey’s mafia business, we see flashbacks to Sophie’s childhood which explain her mistrust of organised crime.
I would have liked to have known more about Sophie’s life just before the beginning of this book. She doesn’t seem to have any friends or life outside her job at all. Just a sort-of-boyfriend she doesn’t like and a mom she doesn’t see much. If her life was as isolated as that suggests, I would have liked to have seen that explored further. (Although I appreciate that the lack of friends might just as easily been down to the author not wanting to introduce any more characters to an already large supporting cast.)
The spanking is plentiful and masterfully handled (by both the spanker and the author). There was a great spanking dynamic here as Sophie and Joey learnt from one another’s desires and expectations. Joey, in particular, proves to be very flexible and keen to learn while remaining deliciously dominant throughout all the spanking scenes.
There’s a ‘spanking bingo’ roll call of different implements in use here. Belt, spatula, wooden spoon and paddle are all featured as well as some rubber weather stripping that I couldn’t quite picture.
Overall, this was a fantastic and gripping read which demonstrates that Renee Rose’s storytelling just gets better and better. (Which is brilliant news for us as she seems to be releasing about a book a month at the moment.)
Renee Rose occasionally writes follow-ups to her books (The Reddington Scandal and Courting Celia for example). I hope she doesn’t with this one. Not because I don’t want to spend any more time with Sophie and Joey – far from it. I just don’t want them to have any more drama in their lives. They’ve had enough excitement. I am happy to leave them to the quiet uneventful life that they both crave. One that’s certain to include plenty of vigorously applied domestic discipline.
This was my second Emily Tilton book, and I can honestly say, I have never been more riveted, titillated, aroused, and satiated in one single story.
I adore her writing style and her beautifully, descriptive scenes!
This story was so deliciously naughty, fun, erotic, with an engaging plot that kept me turning the pages well into the night.
The romantic scenes were some of the most titillating I have ever read. I have never read an old fashioned romance with “naughty” scenes, like the ones mentioned in this book. But this was so reminiscent of them, I found myself torn between naughty grins (I can’t believe I’m reading this!) and blushing like a school girl. I loved it!
When Amelia Lander, a school teacher, learns of the upcoming wedding of her sister, Esther, she rushes to San Francisco to fulfill the promise she made to her mother. To protect her younger sister.
Both sisters were taken apart from each other when very young. Amelia was sent to boarding school, and Esther was “adopted” by a wealthy couple.
(There was actually more to this story, but I don’t want to give away too much! Trust me, it’s good!)
Esther’s new husband, a powerful Captain from the military, Samuel Allen, accepts Amelia’s proof that she is Esther’s sister, and welcomes her to stay in their home. She agrees to stay with them, for propriety, and also to keep an eye on the well-being of her sister.
When Amelia disagrees with the discipline that Esther receives from her husband, she receives her own spanking from Samuel’s best friend and Sergeant Major, Michael Sullivan.
Though she does not appreciate the feeling of being treated like a child, she finds herself growing closer to Michael. She had vowed never to marry, after seeing the actions of real men, like her father who she still feels abandoned her and her mother. She doesn’t trust men, and vows to never marry.
She and Michael form a closer bond of friendship after a second bare bottom spanking, which leaves them both aroused and confused.
When she finds out about a plot that might include her father, she asks Michael to help. I liked the additional mystery and adventure. It added to an already wonderful story, filled with lots of emotional depth and romance.
I loved the naughtiness of several of the scenes between Esther and Samuel especially. They pushed my boundaries in a good way.
I was most drawn to Amelia and Michael’s relationship. I loved Amelia’s combined confliction of proper ladylike behavior mixed with wanton, sexually open woman. This was brilliantly written!
The combined scenes, between the stern Samuel, and his virginal aristocratic bride, mixed with Michael’s fun side, and open mindedness – mixed with the plot twist of the father’s doing, made for such a pleasurable read.
If you love spanking romance, with strong, dominant men this story is for you!
If you like to push the boundaries of eroticism, while remaining in the genre of erotic romance, this story is for you!
I have to confess that this is the first Normandie Alleman book I’ve read but it certainly won’t be my last. What a beautiful writer; her words literally flowed like a fine liqueur.
Rescued by the Buccaneer, as the name suggest, tells the story of a young English woman, who is rescued from pirates, by another pirate.
Setting out to the New World, Frederica Beauchamp’s journey comes to a tragic end when her ship is attacked and all of the crew and passengers are massacred. The unconscious Frederica is spared and taken prisoner on the pirate ship, and finds herself at the mercy of a sadistic captain who takes delight in punishing her. To Frederica’s annoyance these punishments have an unexpected effect on her.
Enter the dashing shipwrecked captain Gaston, full of charm and quite enchanted with this comely maiden. He promises her freedom in return for her help in getting his confiscated weapons. When the mutiny doesn’t quite go according to plan, Gaston blames Frederica, but even in spite of this fact, he still helps her to safety when both are thrown overboard.
Sparks fly between the pair, good and bad until eventually they are marooned on a desert island, and the kinder side of Gaston is unleashed as his protective nature kicks in. When they eventually reach civilization, Gaston is faced with the dilemma of returning to the ways of piracy and losing the woman he has come to care deeply for, or settling for a civilized way of life which he knows is not for him.
The story is beautifully told in a descriptive and lyrical manner, and while it moves along nicely, it never feels rushed. For a moment in time, the reader is transported back to a time when laws were lax, the world was dangerous, and with that danger came an excitement, which the heroine was all too willing to embrace. If I was to fault it at all, it would be that I didn’t feel the dialogue was particularly true to the time period, but being totally honest, that didn’t detract from the fact that it was a most enjoyable read.
Generously sprinkled with spankings, consensual and non consensual, punishment and erotic, and some really hot sex scenes provide the icing on the cake of this charming book. Definitely a hit for me and I look forward to reading more from Normandie’s backlist.

In a world where fairy tales and real life collide, in which truth is sometimes stranger than fiction and romance and fetish are the norm, a winter storm forces a cast of characters to converge at a unique lodge, and three interwoven tales are set in motion.
Jillian and her brother narrowly escape a wolf attack, thanks to a shapeshifter, Bertram. As the owner of the lodge, Bertram opens Jillian’s eyes to a whole new world filled with spanking and so much more. Will she keep fighting her submission, or allow herself the chance for true love?
Coral is a fugitive—hiding from herself, her true desires, and the sea witch to whom she owes a great debt. She fears showing real emotion and letting herself be free, but Jake Hill’s dominating presence beckons her to yield to him—not just her body, but her heart, mind, and soul. When the sea witch demands retribution, though, she may lose the one man she has come to trust.
When Faye blunders while casting a spell upon her landlord, he claims her as his slave until she can undo the magic, and she finds herself subject to his firm discipline. As her attraction to him grows, Faye fears she will give in to the handsome shifter and forever lose her maidenhood, and consequently her powers and the ability to fix her mistake.
Even as all three women struggle with surrendering to the dominant men they have fallen for, each finds herself on a journey to discover her true self. Can they find a way to yield to love without losing themselves in the process?
Publisher’s Note: The Winter Storm is an erotic romance novel that includes spankings, anal play, sexual scenes, age play, exhibitionism, elements of BDSM, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.
Sir, Yes Sir (Old Fashioned Husbands) by Dinah McLeod tells the story of Dean, an army colonel forced to take early retirement to avoid an investigation into a mistake he made, which resulted in his own serious injury. Ashamed of his own failure, he does not tell his wife Shelby the entire story, allowing her to believe he chose retirement because his injury prevented him from serving in active duty.
The story begins after their move off-base, with Dean unemployed and mopey and Shelby taking her first job to support the family at Dairy Queen. The strain between the couple is painfully clear–Dean still expects Shelby to still cook and clean, despite the fact that she is now the bread-winner. His foul mood and high expectations are also taking a toll on his relationship with their teenage son.
The couple have always lived a domestic discipline style marriage, and things come to a head when Shelby accepts a promotion at work without consulting Dean. He spanks her for it, and while he has not been such a likeable character up to that point, it is the moment that brings him out of his own selfish funk.
This is a poignant story that deals with difficult issues in marriage and family life. Dinah tells it well–I teared up a few times over the tender moments. Some spanking romances are all about the spanking and some are more stories with a few spankings sprinkled in. This story falls into the latter category, but I did not feel let down and I applaud the author for not forcing extra spankings in where they do not belong.
I readily admit to being a big Natasha Knight fan, she always manages to push the right buttons for me and Taming Megan was no exception.
The book tells the story of a young married couple, in the early days of their domestic discipline marriage. I think this was Ms. Knight’s first foray into purely domestic discipline writing as opposed to BDSM, but I have to say I think she hit exactly the right notes in the development of the characters.
Megan Roarke is a very likeable young woman who has had a less than ideal upbringing and has been responsible for herself from a very early age. She can’t believe her luck in finding a caring, considerate husband who wants to take care of her, and she agrees to a domestic discipline relationship. We meet her just before her first proper spanking, well deserved for drunken, irresponsible behavior. The build up to that first spanking was absolutely wonderful; Megan’s disbelief that he’s really going to do it, her nerves as she waits for it to happen, and Jakes absolute control of the situation.
Jake really appealed to me, he was stern when he needed to be but incredibly supportive and loving at the same time and I never got the feeling that I wanted to tell him to lighten up or back off. While dominant and caring, he was never overly controlling or domineering, a very difficult balance which was managed brilliantly in my opinion.
Megan runs her own bakery, which is running into financial difficulty, a fact she chooses to hide from Jake. Needless to say he’s not too happy when he finds out. Furthermore, Jake is pitching for a big contract, just at a time when a very foolish mistake from Megan’s past comes back to haunt her and she makes a poor decision to handle it alone. At each step of the way, even as I could see the mistakes Megan was making, I empathized totally with her and quite possibly would have chosen the same road myself! Many of her choices were born of a lack of self-worth and a desire to do anything in her power to protect her marriage.
I highly recommend Taming Megan as a sweet domestic discipline story with a very credible story line, loveable and realistic characters and, of course being a Natasha Knight book you can be guaranteed hot spankings and yummy, naughty sex; my favourite kind!
