Chameleon by Ashe Barker – BDSM at its Best

Review by Renee Rose

Ashe Barker writes exquisite stories.  In her book Chameleon, she follows the torrid fling between a beautiful Moroccan doctor, Fleur Mansouri and a visiting English engineer, Ethan Savage (what a perfect last name for a dom!).  Fleur has natural urges toward submission, but when she tried to express those to her husband as a young wife, he ridiculed her, and worse, physically abused her.

Ethan Savage is an experience dom, who is captivated by the exotic doctor who he first spies riding a donkey by the side of the road, and who comes to his aid after a car accident. When he realizes the woman he thought was a Berber peasant is actually the esteemed doctor at the luxurious Totally Five Star hotel where he is staying, he is even more intrigued.

Sparks fly between them from the very start and it doesn’t take long before Ms. Barker dives into some hot and heavy sex scenes.  I have to say, I read a lot of erotic romance, but I have never read such incredibly vivid, hot scenes as I found in this book.  Ms. Barker has a gift for giving you the play by play, taking the sex scenes slowly and allowing them to build by describing every subtle detail, from anatomy to the character’s thoughts.  I found myself not only riveted by the sex, which develops into smoking hot D/s scenes, but also charmed by the characters, who were the kind of intelligent and emotionally mature people I would like to be have in my inner circle.

I highly recommend Chameleon, a beautiful unfolding of lust, dominance and submission, and the budding trust of two people beginning to give their hearts to one another.
